Después de dos días de regata por el Golfo de Vizcaya, con vientos de más de cuarenta nudos tras salir del puerto francés de Concarneu, los quince monotipos Figaro2 participantes en la transoceánica AG2R La Mondiale, negocian las costas gallegas con unos vientos de componente oeste que les permitirá abandonarlas antes de que llegue el temporal que azotara el noroeste peninsular y cordillera Cantábrica.

Volvo Ocean Race: fraud and business for a few. Knut Frostad has no reason to criticize the breakdowns of the V70

In 2001-2002 the Whitbread round the world ocean race lost its name after the purchase of the event by Volvo Cars, the carmaker was looking for a more economic event that their sponsorship in turf and golf, which costs had highly risen. To add an extra pinch of salt, the decision was made to have a new boat to substitute the WOR60, which had been in the race from 1993 to 2002, among them Galicia Pescanova, third in 1993-94 or Ilbruck, winner in 2001-02. The new boat was named Volvo 70, due to not coming to an agreement with the IMOCA, entity that rules the OPEN 60 fleet.
