El Initiatives-coeur de Tanguy De Lamotte cruzo la línea de llegada a las 10:58 horas, después de 98 días, 21 horas, 56 minutos y 10 segundos. Es el decimo OPEN 60 que finaliza la Vendée Globe 2012-2013, de los 20 que iniciaron esta regata el pasado 10 de noviembre de 2012. Y lograr financiación para salvar vidas de niños enfermos de corazón, en países desfavorecidos.
Ultimas cien millas haciendo bordos. Tanguy De Lamotte tuvo que hacer varios bordos en ceñida para cruzar la línea de llegada en Le Sablés d´Olonne. La aproximación a la llegada la hizo por el norte, desde la isla de Belle, para después navegar de ceñida hasta Le Sablés d´Olonne. Una llegada atípica para un navegante solitario Vendée Globe después de 98 días de regata vuelta al mundo, pero los caprichos del viento han querido que Tanguy De Lamotte estuviese más horas en la mar antes de finalizar su primera Vendée Globe.
Initiatives-coeur invirtió 98 días, 21 horas, 56 minutos y 10 segundos, tras recorrer 24.393,41 millas de navegación vuelta al mundo a vela en solitario, sin paradas, ni ayuda externa; a una velocidad media de 10,3 nudos. Y ha llegado 20 días, 19 horas y 39 minutos después del ganador Macif de François Gabat; y 6 días, 4 horas y 45 minutos después del noveno clasificado Bertrand De Broc.
Una vuelta al mundo muy difícil para Tanguy De Lamotte, su OPEN 60 Initiatives-coeur es un velero antiguo (botado en 1998), que le ha servido al patrón francés para aprender mucho sobre la Vendée Globe, conocer los grandes mares del sur; y gracias a la dureza del casco de este velero, ha podido aguantar los envites de varios troncos contra sus orzas y timones, además de las muchas averías sufridas. Tenacidad y perseverancia de Tanguy De Lamotte.
Un día fresco y soleado en Le Sablés d´Olonne. Han sido las condiciones ideales para un día de invierno en Le Sablés d´Olonne, lo que ha propiciado que millares de aficionados se agolpasen en las riberas del canal de entrada de este puerto francés.
Espectacular el recibimiento para Tanguy De Lamotte por el canal del puerto de Le Sablés d´Olonne. Millares de aficionados aplaudieron, saludaron a Tanguy, gritaban Tanguy, gritaban Initiaitves-coeur. Como si fuese el ganador de la Vendée Globe. Daba igual que sea el decimo patrón en finalizar la vuelta al mundo en solitario. De hecho la Organización Vendée Globe no ha escatimado medios para darle la máxima cobertura (9.468 espectadores en directo vía Dailymotion, videostreaming).
El público no solo festejaba la llegada del Initiatives-coeur de Tanguy De Lamotte, sino la fuerte repercusión que han logrado con este proyecto en la Vendée Globe para dar a conocer los problemas de las enfermedades de corazón que padecen mucho niños.
Acción social a través del Proyecto Initiaives-coeur. El principal patronacinador de Tanguy De Lamotte ha sido la Fundación Initiatives. Una entidad sin ánimo de lucro que ha nacido ante la necesidad de financiar a las escuelas y las asociaciones que necesitan cada año recaudar fondos para sus proyectos educativos, artísticos, culturales y deportivos. Su misión es encontrar, desarrollar y ofrecer soluciones de recaudación de fondos fáciles de implementar, con las mejores garantías.
Así que el Proyecto Initiaitves-coeur de Tanguy De Lamotte tiene como objetivo lograr la máxima financiación posible para la cura de enfermedades del corazón de niños sin recursos en países desfavorecidos. Durante toda la Vendée Globe, y a través de la web del Initiaitves-coeur, se podía hacer donativos de un euro, como mínimo, por click en la página web para recaudar dinero para el Mecenazgo de la Cirugía Cardiaca para Niños del Mundo, que tiene por objetivo la intervención quirúrgica de niños enfermos cardiacos. En los dos últimos años se han podido operar a 13 niños, gracias a los donativos logrados por la acción de la participación de Tanguy De Lamotte en diferentes regatas oceánicas.
Espero que en España se logren acciones como estas a través de la vela, a ver quién es el primero en ponerlo en marcha.
